What is the viral secret?

Great content - Yes you have to create content that people want to share. By good content, I do not mean you need to spend a lot of money. It just needs to be “worth” sharing, and in some way connect emotionally.
The message must always have a human interest side. It needs to inspire the viewer to share, because she or he feels their network would in some way benefit.
Native - The content needs to be native to the platform. Upworthy, for example, focuses on Facebook and Twitter. Their content is designed to work across both these platforms seamlessly.
Social - These websites are optimised for social sharing and they are responsive (you can view the sites on mobile, tablet, or desktop). This makes it incredibly easy for the viewer to read or watch the content anywhere and then share.

Timing - It matter's, but not always. The content should be distributed when people are online, or the subject matter is breaking news and you are ahead of the pack. Although sometimes content goes viral regardless of the time.

Lastly, if there is a formula can a piece of content be produced that goes viral more than once?
