iOS 18: Revealing the Upcoming iPhone Version in 2024

Is Siri Becoming Chatty? Apple and OpenAI are discussing iOS 18.

Rumor has it that Apple is in negotiations to add new AI features to iOS 18 with OpenAI, the research firm behind potent language models like ChatGPT.  Apple has previously looked into integrating external AI. The use of Google's Gemini generative AI model was discussed, but talks with OpenAI appear to be intensifying.

What might iOS 18 mean by this?

According to reports, Apple plans to use OpenAI's technology to develop an AI-powered chatbot for iOS 18. It's unclear if this is a new feature of the Apple ecosystem or a complete replacement for Siri.

Date of Release and Compatibility

Public debut is anticipated in June 2024 during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Probably around September, coinciding with the debut of the new iPhones. Anticipated to work with iPhone models XR, XS, SE 2, and after (same as iOS 17). Support for some older iPads may be discontinued in iPadOS 18. 

Siri and AI, 

would enhance the impact and the way things are curated through AI utilization.

AI integration may be a key area of concentration; there have been reports that Apple and OpenAI are working together to develop a new AI assistant or enhance Siri's skills.
Features like the capacity to condense facts and have a more organic dialogue flow with Siri could fall under this category.
